How to Sow
- Choose the warmest, most sheltered spot possible — a south-facing wall is ideal outdoors
- Plant in well-drained soil enriched with compost
- Space vines 1.2-1.5m apart along a support system of horizontal wires
- Plant at the same depth as the nursery pot
- Water well and mulch around the base
Plant Care
- Train the main rod (stem) along your wire system
- Prune side shoots back to one or two buds from the main rod each winter
- In summer, pinch out growing tips two leaves beyond each flower cluster
- Thin bunches to improve fruit size and air circulation
- Water well in dry weather and feed with a high-potash fertiliser fortnightly during summer
